A New DT Kit and A Winner ........

Hello Snazzy followers.

This week sees the start of a new cycle of design team projects using the wonderful Art of Life papers and stamps from Kaisercraft.

The paper kit has 2 each of six double sided papers and a bonus 12x12 sticker sheet, the two stamp sets are CS146 Art of Life and CS154 Film Edges. To this we added a set of the Art of Life Collectables, some dainty cream lace and some linen ribbon......

 

I have added some black mountboard and cardstock to my kit for the first of my workshop projects but I'll keep you guessing about what I made until a little later.

 

 

I must thank everyone who took the time to leave a comment for the DTeamies last month, this is very much appreciated by all of the team, and it's so nice to pop over and have a look at your blogs too - there are a lot of very talented people out there!

DT Project #3 - Diana - featuring jillibean soup - art journal

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!!

i am back one final time with my 'oh how i love thee' art journal page.

i just thought i would pop back and show you what inspiration hit me when i saw the set of jillibean soup heart healthy red bean soup clear stamps along with the versa fine satin red stamp pad and the WOW opaque Bright White embossing powder in my design team kit

it turned out exactly as i hoped it would! this for sure will be a set of stamps i use over and over on those 'love type' pages i create!

DT Project #2 - Diana featuring jillIbean soup quick layout

hi there again. just popping in really quickly to let you see another project i have created using the jilly bean soup papers.

i loved the mix of using paper, the tsukineko red versa fine ink included in our kits along with a crafters workshop stencil and of course my black archival ink pad.
i love how it came together... not necessarily a 'valentine' type page but a true story. i do love this kid 365 days a year

DT Project #1 by Diana - blocks of love featuring JilliBean Soup!

hi everyone. here i am sharing with you my creation using JilliBean Soup Heart Healthy Red Bean Soup collection
i started my project off with a 2x4 which i cut down to size, sanded the edges and then painted it black.
next it was just a matter of layering on this lovely paper and adding bits and bobs along the way. i am not a neat kind of scrapbooker or mixed media artist or well okay neat anything when it comes to art so i just had to add a bit of distress to my papers along with a bit of black edging using archival ink.

for those papers that were white based, and i wanted to use them, i just added a bit of frayed burlap distress ink to them to add the kraft touch

here is my project. hope you like it!

i love that i can rearrange them depending on where i want to stack them!

DT Project No 2 by Lucy Edmondson - Featuring Jilly Bean Soup - Heart Healthy Box

I made this heart shaped chocolate box for Valentine's Day featuring the Jilly Bean Heart Healthy Red Bean Soup Collection. I painted a papier mache box with Fresco Finish paints in a mixture of London Bus and Brown Shed and covered the top with the Love paper. I edged it with a red pleated ribbon from my stash and some of the paper cut with a scalloped punch.

I cut the flowers using the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die and a piece of hessian to go with the natural look of the paper range. I covered the hessian with watered down PVA first and let it dry so that it didn't fray. I made up the flowers and then edged them with some of the Wow White Embossing Enamel to define the edges and popped a red heart from my stash in the middle and added green fabric leaves. I added a white doily, and a couple of the white heart pins from the kit we were sent which you can see peeking out at the back.

The shrink plastic plaque which reads, 'I love you 365 days of the year' is made in the same way as the one in Monday's post here, and is made with the co-ordinating stamps set and the Versafine Satin Red ink pad.

DT Project No 1 Lucy Edmondson - Tweet Tweet I Love You!

With my Jilly Bean Soup Heart Healthy Red Bean Soup Collection I decided to start off by making an easel card. As soon as I saw the words on the stamp set, 'I love you 365 Days of the Year' I thought of my husband who has a birthday this week, so it was perfect for a romantic card for him. Why not use it for your Valentine cards this year?

As the card stock has a Kraft card background, I used a 6 ins x 6 ins square Kraft card blank and folded the top part in half to form the easel. I cut a piece of the bird paper to just under 6 x 6 to allow for a small border and the same with the chevron design. I cut the bird piece in half and distressed it with my scissors and edged this and the chevron piece with the Wow White Embossing Powder. I embossed the word Love onto a piece of the XOXO paper and die cut it. I adhered the two bird panels onto the front of the card so that it folded in half and stuck the die cut piece so that it was only attached to the bottom half so that it popped up as shown.

I adhered the chevron piece inside the card and die cut another XOXO piece for the message. I painted a piece of shrink plastic with Snowflake Fresco Finish paint and stamped the words 'I Love You 365 Days of the Year' onto it with the Versafine Satin Red ink pad from the kit. You probably know this already, but generally I wouldn't use Versafine on shrink plastic but the chalky finish of Fresco paints allows you to use this ink as it provides a 'key' so that the ink dries easily. I then die cut around the sentiment using the same die set I had use on the outside pop up piece and for the message panel. I shrank it with my heat tool and added a strip of pleated ribbon to act as the anchor for my easel.

And do you know what my husband said when he opened the card and saw my romantic sentiment? 'What about leap years!' I give up!

DT Project #3 by Claire - featuring Jilly Bean Soup

Hello Everyone

Claire here again today to share my final project with you all for this week featuring the JillyBean Soup: Heart Healthy Red Bean Soup Collection.

So here is another Valentine's Day card I created:

 I started by cutting some of the 'XOXO' paper and some of the 'Hearts' paper to size for my 5x7 card blank.  I pierced around the edges of both pieces and inked around the edges with Vintage Photo distress ink.  I then punched the doily border along the bottom edge of the 'XOXO' paper using a Xcut border punch.

 I then die cut the hearts from the 'hearts' paper, attached a tiny ribbon hook to each one and threaded them onto the string of mini pearls.  I added them to the card using foam pads and glossy accents to keep the pearl string in place.  I then added the cream ribbon around the card, tied in a bow and added two heart hat pins which came with the kit this month.
