Design Team project #2 by Astrid featuring Prima Almanac Collection

Hello again dear Snazzy visitors. Here is my second project for this month. It's also the last one featuring this collection so for a chance to win the stamps and embellishments, don't forget to leave a comment of the first post of this month by clicking on the picture in the sidebar on the right.

This is a little card holder, always comes in handy. You can find a great tutorial with video on how to make this on Splitcoast Stampers. Just click this link: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/accordionstylecardholder/ (Sorry I am using google chrome and it won't let me make links clickable so you may just have to copy and paste lol if you want to look)
Anyway, here is my version, quite different, hope you like it. I think the pictures pretty much speak for themselves so I won't bore you with a long description.

Front of holder. All the pretty buttons come with the collection!

Inside with tabs for different types of cards

Side view

Detail. The pretty letters come with the collection! You just have to cut them out.
If you are looking for a fun project for yourself or to give as a gift, give it a try. These papers are just perfect for it I think.

Well, that's it for now, don't forget to come back on Monday when we are having a challenge with the theme "Spring Colours" and another chance to win a fab prize!

Design Team project #1 featuring Prima Almanac Collection

Good morning all you lovely Snazzy visitors, Astrid here with my first project this month featuring the wonderful Almanac collection by Prima. I think this must be one of my all time favourite collections, so versatile as you probably have seen already from all the great projects my teamies have show cased so far. If you haven't done so already, make sure you click the link on the right here and leave a comment on that post for a chance to win the stamps and embellishments that come with this collection, they're awesome!!
So onto my project, I decided to make a mini out of envelopes, a great idea passed onto me by our wonderful boss Val. Here is the cover:
cover
To make the mini is so simple, all you do is take about 6 equally sized envelopes, on 5 of them you fold the flaps back and slot them into each other. On the last one you make a score about 1 cm wide where the flap attaches to the rest of the envelope and fold it round the others, you cover it with your chosen papers both inside and out and voila, your basic mini is done and you can start the fun of decorating it.

For my cover I used one of the papers (obviously), and played around with it, I used Distress Inks in Pumice Stone, Vintage Photo, Tattered Rose and Victorian Velvet. I used these colours right through the mini, For the cover I also used a Prima stencil from my stash, some die cuts, and several of the wonderful charms and buttons that come with the collection. For the rose you see, I used one of my favourite techniques to alter the papers a bit, namely decoupaging one of the layers of a paper serviette with Mod Podge. Her are some details:
For this label I used one of the stamps. The title is computer decorated, then I stamped over it and carefully cut it out.
Both the butterfly (cut from one of the papers) and the cherish charm are part of the collection
For the inside pages I did not have quite enough papers as I also wanted to make a second project. So for some of the pages I used some Kaisercraft papers from my stash. By applying the same techniques to them, they tie in pretty well with the Prima collection though I think. Instead of showing you endless photos (and descriptions) of these pages and the tags etc, here is a little video that shows them:

All of the tags are made with the elements from this collection, they are just ideal for a mini I think. This one is going to hold photos of my first grandchild that is on the way...:o)

Well, that's it for now, I will be back on Wednesday with another little project that uses the collection in its unaltered state. If you want a chance to win those goodies, don't forget to leave a comment by clicking the side bar icon!

DT Project #3 by Minxy : Featuring:

Prima Almanac Collection

So my snazzy folks here I am with my final offering of the month {well apart for the challenge that's coming up at the end of the month} And this time I focused on the stamp set {which you can win by leaving a comment HERE}
I made a box draw with the help of an online tutorial, but it wasn't quite the size I needed so I altered it to suit my needs. I decorated it with the Prima papers, and bit of the idea-ology rose ribbon.
Then I made a matching set of cards with prima papers, and the cling mounted prima stamps. I stamped the script direct on the cards and then layered some of the pretty images that were from one of the papers. I stamped and cut out the scroll and finished with some rose ribbon. There are 2 each of 3 designs.
I didn't bother to stamp any sentiments in the blank scroll spaces as I figured these would make good go to cards, then you can add a good luck or happy birthday as and when needed.
So that's me for now, Thanks to everyone who has stopped by and commented, I truly appreciate your support. Make sure you hop back soon as Astrid will be sharing her lovely Prima projects.
Till then..

DT Project #2 by Minxy : Featuring:

Prima Almanac Collection

Hiya Snazzy folks, I'm back again with my second helping of Prima goodness
I though i'd take a slightly different approach with my next project and focus on some of the beautiful embellishments.
I attached some of the gorgeous Art Tiles to some Idea-ology acrylic charms that had been backed with some scraps of the Prima papers. I then attached them to one of Snazzy's own brand metal bracelets.
Along with a couple of the Prima Trinkets and hay presto
A very plain, very simple, but really pretty bracelet.
I'll be back on Friday with my final project, but in the mean time If you haven't already, go and leave a comment HERE to be in with a chance to win some of the Prima Trinkets and a set of stamps, but after you've left me a nice comment of course lol

DT Project #1 by Minxy : Featuring

Prima Almanac Collection

Hiya snazzy folks
As you know we have been working with the very beautiful new collection from Prima,
And for my first project I decided to make an elegant little canvas purse/bag
I use Prima (Almanac) Collection 12x12 Papers, Prima Wood Buttons, Prima Art Tiles, Claudine Hellmuth Sticky Back Canvas, Tim Holtz Lavish Trim and some chain from my stash.
To make the bag I used Claudine's sticky back canvas and her transfer technique which you can view on utube here.
Once I had transferred the paper to the canvas I cut out a bag shape and assembled using some ultra clear tape, I attached some chain and then made a cardboard insert for the inside to give the piece some rigidity.
I covered the closure flap with lavish trim that I tinted with 'tea die' distress stain to match it in with the colours on the bag and finished with some of the Prima buttons and an art tile.
The perfect springtime accessory.
I'll be back on Wednesday with my next project
Till then Stay Inky

Design Team Project #3 featuring Prima Almanac Collectiion (by Lesley)

Hi Again Everyone,

This is my last post to share with you this month.  I've so enjoyed playing with the stunning Prima Almanac Collection and can't praise them enough.  Today I have a tag and an ATC to show you but before I do, a final reminder from me to click here and leave a comment on Gillian's first post for April to be in the random draw to win the lovely stamps and a set of beautiful embellishments that the DT have had the pleasure of using this month.

Here's my tag

First of all I lightly blended Vintage Photo Distress Ink all over my tag, dried it with my heat gun before stamping the script stamp down the right hand side using Versamark ink which I then clear embossed.  I followed this with a repeat of the Vintage Photo blending to deepen the background colour and then I buffed the  embossing with kitchen towel to take off any excess ink.

I tore a piece from one of the design papers, inked the edges and adhered it to the left side of the tag and then attached some of the 'ribbon' from the bottom of one of the papers before embellishing with a bit of Ideology and one of the Prima buttons.  I cut three of the circle images using a Nestie die and inked the edges again ............. I do love my inked edges, lol!  I attached one straight to the tag and attached the other two ontop of a couple of the middle sized rosettes from TH/Sizzix which had again didn't escape an inking.

Some fibres tied in the top and there you go!

And finally, my ATC

Now this was really simple.  I cut one of the ATC designs from the sheet, placed a strip of the paper 'ribbon' across and cut the words from another strip.  I inked the edges of the word pieces a little with Tattered Rose Distress Ink and added them to the ATC with 3D foam pads.

Finally I cut out another of the circle images with a Nestie, ............ er, inked the edges and attached it to the ATC with 3D foam pads.  I threaded a bit of chain through one of the wooden buttons and through one of the lovely charms and attached the button with 3D foam pads.  Oh, nearly forgot, before attaching the charm I rubbed some Salmon Adirondack Acrylic Dabber over it and wiped it off with kitchen towel so that it settled in the  indented numerals, etc.

Well, that's it from me for this month.  Thanks for stopping by and on Monday it will be our lovely Minxy's turn.  Can't wait to see what she has in store for us.  Till next month ...........

Hugs

Design Team Project #2 featuring Prima Almanac Collection (by Lesley)

Hello Again Everyone,

Today I'm sharing my second project using this beautiful Almanac collection of papers, embellishments and stamps by Prima.  They really are stunning products and it's well worth leaving a comment HERE to be entered into the Snazzy draw at the end of the month and be in with a chance of winning a set of stamps and a pack of the embellishments.

As you can see my project today is a card for which I cut a section from one of the papers to cover the front of my 21 x 21 cm base card.  I distressed the edges with my TH distressing tool and blended some Vintage Photo Distress Ink around the edges and then added some white highlights using a white pen before adhering to the base card.  I cut another section from one of the paper designs and used a circle punch to cut out the corners before again distressing and inking.  I adhered this to the top right of my card and then added two of the beautiful Prima tiles.

The sentiment comes from a lovely set of Kaisercraft clear stamps which I bought from Snazzys stand at the HSNW show last October (looking forward to going to see them there again in May, Yay!).  It fitted perfectly inside the pretty label stamp from the Almanac collection so I stamped them both onto a scrap from one of the papers before cutting it out with a Nestie label die.

I ruffled the ribbon across the card onto strong double sided tape leaving it flat where I wanted to place the sentiment and that was my card completed.

I hope to post a final little project before my week's blog posting is over and hope you get chance to check back.

Hugs

Design Team Project #1 featuring Prima Almanac Collection (by Lesley)

Hello Lovely Visitors,

I hope you all survived the horrible weather last week here in the UK.  Where else do you get a drop of 20 degrees in a couple of days, lol!

Well this week it's my turn to share my projects made with the gorgeous Prima Almanac Collection of goodies.  Now, I have to confess I am definitely not a 'pink' girl and whilst these lovely papers have a lot of pink in them there are lots of other shades which made it easy, with the blending of my favourite Distress Inks, to mute the pink.  DON'T FORGET, IF YOU WOULD LIKE THE CHANCE TO WIN SOME OF THESE BEAUTIFUL EMBELLISHMENTS AND THE GORGEOUS STAMPS GO LEAVE A COMMENT here TO BE ENTERED INTO THE DRAW AT THE END OF THE MONTH.

My first project this month is a concertina tag card.  I came across a template for this which I've had for several years and never used (as you do, lol) and thought it would be the perfect way to showcase this fabulous collection of papers and embellishments.

I used one of the sheets of the paper collection to cut the concertina and part of another to cut the tags, distressed the edges of the tags with my Tim Holtz distresser and then blended Tattered Rose and Forest Moss Distress Inks around all the edges.  The centre tag has the beautiful script stamp from the collection creating a background.

Each sheet of these 12 x 12 papers has a strip along one edge which gives the product details on one side but usefully has a design on the other so that it can be used like ribbon which is what I did with the centre tag.  The image is a download from a workshop I did an age ago as is the butterfly.

One of the sheets has a whole selection of ATC sized designs and I selected two of them for my project, adding a quote to one and leaving the other blank as a place to write a message.  I die cut some flourishes and some flowers from the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die.  There are some fabulous wooden buttons in the Almanac collection and the little flowered ones match the Tattered Florals die beautifully.

Of course, such a project needs something suitable to present it in and luckily the template included a 'boxalope' ............ I'm afraid I don't have the patience to work these things out for myself, lol!

I'll be back later in the week with another project to share.  Thanks for your visit today and I hope you get chance to pop back.  Don't forget to enter the draw because the stamps and embellishments are really gorgeous!

Happy Easter

Design Team Project #2 Featuring Prima

Good morning everyone, today I'm back sharing another DT project featuring the wonderful Prima Almanac collection.

I started out by painting a chunky wooden block with Acrylic Paint. I then stamped the script image from the above collection in Archival Ink (Sepia). I then used various scraps of papers to decorate all four sides, inking the edges with Distress Inks (Vintage Photo & Tattered Rose). The Ideaology Trimmings have been inked with Distress Stain (Milled Lavender). I have used various Idealogy metal embellishments and embellishments from the Art Tiles & Wooden Buttons set.
