Snazzy Design Team Project #1 By Gillian ....

Good morning everyone, Gillian here with my first project of the week. Yet another month has sprung from nowhere and it is time for the Design Team to create with some more goodies. This month we will be featuring the Chalk Studio/MME - Enjoy Everyone Paper Kit along with these Kaisercraft Clear Stamps ... I'm working with Smile (CS130), Confidence (CS124) & Life (CS125).

The base of my project is using a Studio 490 Art Parts Fancy Oval Frames which I covered using the 12x12 Lettered Paper from the Paper Kit, adhering with Cosmic Shimmer Glue then sanding around the edges, this saves any cutting.

These papers have a beautiful white shading/chalk effect throughout the designs, so bearing this in mind I sponged Distress Paint (Picket Fence) around the edges to pull everything together. I then painted the Gears from the Art Parts Set Steampunk Gears & More using Distress Paint (Pitch Black), before stamping with Kaisercraft Clear Stamp - Arty, again using Distress Paint (Picket Fence).

I've sprayed the flowers {which were Gold/Bronze in colour prior to spraying} from the Prima Sunrise/Sunset Collection with Dylusions Black Marble & White Linen then thouroughly heat drying before adhering using Cosmic Shimmer Glue. I then added some Ideaology Light Bulbs and a Philosophy Tag.

Next using a left over rectangle Art Part shape, I painted this using Snowflake fresco Paint as I wanted  full coverage before stamping with Archival Ink (Jet Black). At this point I did not fully load the Kaisercraft Clear Stamp {Life} with ink as I didn't want a "crisp image" this would then match the whole overall effect of the project.

To tie in the top right hand side, I painted a Kaisercraft Wooden embellishment using Distress Paint (Pitch Black) then spritzed some Dylusions White Linen over the top before adding some more flowers as above.

So that's project #1 ..... I will be back on Thursday with my final project for Snazzy's. I have had the privilege of assisting Val & Don over the last few years in sharing the business that is Snazzy's with you all, setting up the Design Team blog and working with the best teamie's. As the old saying goes "all good things come to an end" .... with another year of studies ahead as well as working full time, something has to give. I would like to say a huge thanks to everyone at Snazzy's for letting me share the journey with you guys, and I wish you all the very best in the future. x

Without further ado the winner of last months Random Comment is ..... Helen (StampingByH)

This is a Wowser of a project Gillian. I love all the little details in keeping with the chalk board effect on the papers. I've fallen in love with the Kaisercraft word stamps. They have some great quotes on them and I think I need to buy some more to add to the DT kit ones, lol!

It's been a pleasure working with you for the past 2 years but no one knows better than I that often other priorities get in the way of our crafting lives. Good luck with those studies!

Hugs
Lesley Xx

WAUW this is sooo beautiful Gillian. I absolutely love your gorgeous project here. I already love everything Kaisercraft and think they have some really awesome products, but you have sure managed to make them lok even better again. This is sooo awesome and looks really gorgeous.
I´ll be sooo sorry to see you leave here, as I´ve sooo enjoyed your creations, but ofcause you sometimes needs to make some changes, as we just can´t do everything, no matter how much we would like to LOL.
Best of luck in the future, and I still hope, I´ll be able to see some of your gorgeous work around.

A beautiful mix of elegant black and white with the shabby chic of the flowers and the distressing xx

Without Gillian's organisational skills the Snazzys DT would not have developed into such a rich source of inspiration for so many crafters out there. I am sure that though her studies may seem overwhelming at times she will look back and feel they have been worthwhile and are sure to help her achieve all she wishes to in her career. Whilst we are sad she has reached the end of her journey with Snazzys we are sure you will join us in thanking her for all her efforts and wish her every good fortune in the future xx
