DT Project #1 by Minxy, Featuring:

Prima/ Finnabair Sunrise Sunset Collection

Hello my lovelies and a very Happy Easter to you all.. Hope you've all enjoyed the bank holiday weekend and not pigged out on too much chocolate!!!
{is there such a thing as too much chocolate!}
So as you are all aware by now we have had some amazing Finn goodies to play with this month.
As well as the kit we got, I was a tad naughty and got several more things from the collection, all of which can be bought at Snazzy's.
My first project is a Canvas

I started by transferring one of the sunrise sunset papers onto the canvas using a matt gel medium,  Just stick your paper, pattern side down with the gel medium onto the canvas, making sure you burnish it all over then let it dry {completely}
Once dry, lightly score the back with a craft knife and spray with water, let it soak in for a second then start rubbing, continue until all the excess paper has been rubbed away and leaves you with the pattern of the paper on your canvas.
Remember, don't rub too hard or your image will also rub away{although you might like that look, I did}, and also text paper will be transferred backward.
Taking colours from the paper I did some random stamping all over the canvas using all of the mini cling stamps and archival ink.
I used some of the epoxy stickers to highlight a couple of the images.

I attached half a vintage doily with more of the gel medium, while that was drying I stuck another of the sunrise sunset papers to card and then diecut the word 'style' from it.
I also used some of the idea-ology chit chat stickers outlined with neoII pastels.

I diecut a dressform from cardboard, coloured the top and stand with black distress stain and the used some of the sunrise sunset fabric tape to fashion an outfit, I also cut some swirls from red card and stamped with one of the sunrise sunset cling stamps.
I coloured a bit of seam binding with more distress stains to create a scarf and finished her off with a spray of cosmic shimmer mist for a bit of sparkle.

To finish I created some paper flowers from yet more of the sunrise sunset papers and a spellbinders die. and used one of the sunrise sunset wood icons in it's natural state.

I hope you have enjoyed my first project. I will be back again on Thursday with my next offering.

Oh a little heads up: Our lovely teamie Astrid is away on her jolly's so next week we will be hosting a Finn Inspired challenge, so get your thinking/making caps on as you could be in with a chance of winning a very cool Finnabair Mixed Media Journal!

Till Thursday,
Stay Inky

What a great canvas Minxy. I love all the little details and those flowers are gorgeous. I had to smile at the doily because I'm sure I have the crochet pattern for that (inherited from my grandmother) and I've made it several times years ago. I can see my favourite stamp from the collection in the background too ...... the little petals one. This is a lovely showcase of lots of the goodies from this fab collection.
