Hello Again,
Wow, the months are surely whizzing by again this year don't you think! June already and what do you think to the brilliant news that Hels is joining our team? Following on from Gillian's fab projects last week it's my turn to showcase the beautifully detailed Darkroom Door London 2 stamps. For my first project this week I've chosen to design a card.
I deliberately kept this really simple to show the fabulous detail and quality of these lovely stamps. All the images were stamped in either Versafine Satin Red or Archival Cobalt.
On the two images stamped in Archival Cobalt I picked out just a few details with a waterbrush and Barn Door Distress Stain and the buttons from my stash were stitched onto the card.
I matted and layered the images onto co-ordinating cardstock before attaching them to the card and then held my breath, lol, while stamping the London definition and the taxi images directly onto the card.
Don't forget, if you would like to be in the end of month draw to win a set of these gorgeous stamps plus a Versafine Satin Red cube go here to leave a comment ............. but leave me one here first............ please ;-).
I'll be back later in the week with another project so hope you can pay us another visit.
Hugs
Lesley Xx

Beautiful stamps and beautiful project! Love the matting of the images and the striking color combination!
You really have highlighted the beauty and detail of these stamps. The layout works so well and I love that you have stuck to a limited colour palette. Thanks for sharing, hugs Buttons x
Great card Lesley, love how you have showcased the stamps and the whole composition is just beautiful!
Hope you had a great weekend!!
great way of showcasing these super stamps.....fab design.
Hi Lesley, I have printed this card off for my wall of inspiration. There are so many things I love about it; including colour choice & layout.
I particularly love the way you have used barn door distress stain to highlight areas of the archival colbalt stamped images. They remind me of b&w photos that have been tinted; but have a great sketchy look to them.
I have so many project ideas. Now all I need are the stamps.
Great clean and simple look to your card Lesley. The red highlights look fab on the cobalt images, and the little buttond look great. The balance of the card is perfect, and you were very brave with your direct stamping! Judith xx
I've just been realizing how powerful simple matting is when allowing images to be the focus of attention & this is a beautiful example to bring the lesson home to me. Brilliant & I love those buttons.

Great card Lesley, such simple colours with your perfect matting and layering show the stamps off to great effect. That tiny touch of red is inspired and the buttons add a little highlight without overpowering the main focus. Well done for making a great card in the middle of a very busy time! Elaine xxx
Love the red, white & blue pallette but especially those touches of Barn Door Distress - it's the little things that really make a design sing. Deceptively simple & simply superb xx
Oh wow Lesley. What fab stamps and I love the way you have kept the colours simple. Brave indeed to stamp direct to card. I think I'd have done that before I actually stuck the main images down lol
