Design Team Project #1 featuring Prima Almanac Collection (by Lesley)

Hello Lovely Visitors,

I hope you all survived the horrible weather last week here in the UK.  Where else do you get a drop of 20 degrees in a couple of days, lol!

Well this week it's my turn to share my projects made with the gorgeous Prima Almanac Collection of goodies.  Now, I have to confess I am definitely not a 'pink' girl and whilst these lovely papers have a lot of pink in them there are lots of other shades which made it easy, with the blending of my favourite Distress Inks, to mute the pink.  DON'T FORGET, IF YOU WOULD LIKE THE CHANCE TO WIN SOME OF THESE BEAUTIFUL EMBELLISHMENTS AND THE GORGEOUS STAMPS GO LEAVE A COMMENT here TO BE ENTERED INTO THE DRAW AT THE END OF THE MONTH.

My first project this month is a concertina tag card.  I came across a template for this which I've had for several years and never used (as you do, lol) and thought it would be the perfect way to showcase this fabulous collection of papers and embellishments.

I used one of the sheets of the paper collection to cut the concertina and part of another to cut the tags, distressed the edges of the tags with my Tim Holtz distresser and then blended Tattered Rose and Forest Moss Distress Inks around all the edges.  The centre tag has the beautiful script stamp from the collection creating a background.

Each sheet of these 12 x 12 papers has a strip along one edge which gives the product details on one side but usefully has a design on the other so that it can be used like ribbon which is what I did with the centre tag.  The image is a download from a workshop I did an age ago as is the butterfly.

One of the sheets has a whole selection of ATC sized designs and I selected two of them for my project, adding a quote to one and leaving the other blank as a place to write a message.  I die cut some flourishes and some flowers from the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die.  There are some fabulous wooden buttons in the Almanac collection and the little flowered ones match the Tattered Florals die beautifully.

Of course, such a project needs something suitable to present it in and luckily the template included a 'boxalope' ............ I'm afraid I don't have the patience to work these things out for myself, lol!

I'll be back later in the week with another project to share.  Thanks for your visit today and I hope you get chance to pop back.  Don't forget to enter the draw because the stamps and embellishments are really gorgeous!

Happy Easter
Lesley  Xx

A beautiful project with so much interesting detail to look at and although pink it has been muted so well to make it subtle. Love it.

Striking with your addition of the Forest Moss to the Tattered Rose & I love the way you used that butterfly with the red elements really lifting the whole & alerting the eyes to pay attention. The little box is such a lovely complement too. This is another of my favourites of yours.

A lovely project Lesley, I have that template too, very much neglected as well. It is such a useful one too, why do we do that? Lovely colours, creating a shabby vintage feel, and I love the addition of the flowers and buttons. I love the script stamp too, but I like so many of the same things that you do anyway! There are lots of lovely details to look at as always in your projects, a beautiful job, Judith xx

I do love this concertina tag card thingie! I don't mind the pink, but I do love how you have muted it down - and the boxalope is really great, too.

I love this Lesley, it's so beautiful and the envelope looks just as good as the concertina tag. The butterflies are gorgeous and look so good against the pale background colours.
